Made with Morado, often called Bolivian Rosewood, this OM sounds rich and full, clear and strong! Its sound is aided by the upgraded Sitka Spruce top, two grades above a D28! The bindings on its top and back, along with its heel plate, head plate, and end piece are all made from Madagascar Rosewood. Polished and beveled Tortoise pick guard, genuine Mahogany one-piece hand-carved neck with a 1 3/4" bone nut, Honduran Rosewood Headplate. Modified Low Oval/Performing Artist Taper carved neck, 2 3/16" String Spacing at the bridge, Nickel Gotoh tuning machines, Standard 25.4" scale length, 1930s-style belly bridge with a drop-in bone saddle, "Torch-inspired" fingerboard inlay in Select Abalone pearl! Bold Herringbone top inlay with aging toner, with Tortoise Body Binding and Black/Maple purfling. Rich and oh so Resonant. Hand-scalloped 1/4"Adirondack braces in a Vintage Golden Era pattern. However once in a very rare while, Martin finds a set of figured wood which they used on this special guitar ! Hard and heavy, it is very fine grained, stable when dry, and bends readily.The best part is the GLORIOUS sound. Honduran Rosewood is a true "Dalbergia" as is the extinct Brazilian Rosewood ! It has great tap tone. Even with its Short Scale length, this slightly-deeper and barely-noticeable guitar body has unbelievable bass response-not boxy, but fullsome and powerful! Tortoise body binding, a Genuine Mahogany 1-piece hand-carved neck with Martin's spectacular and easy-playing Modified Low Oval shape-with the Performing Artist taper, and 1 3/4" nut width all add a "tasty" character to our glorious Triple O. Whatever amazing legends you have known about extinct Brazilian Rosewood, the very same things are true-and even magnified-when it comes to the Madagascar Rosewood on this instrument! The tone of this wood sustains majestically, and the Premium Sitka top produces awe-inspiring and magically-nuanced melodies! Martin's Custom Shop luthiers used 1/4" hand-scalloped braces, and placed them in an early 1930's pattern, using pattern #19A as a guide-after flexing and tap-tuning the very high-grade Sitka-to get the best tone and volume from this guitar. ! Aging toner top, standard belly bridge, drop-in saddle. Torch fingerboard inlays in Select Abalone Pearl! Martin" block Abalone Pearl inlay in the headstock! Grover Gold tuning machines, with Vintage buttons. One-piece Genuine Mahogany neck (1 3/4" bone nut) with a Modified Low Oval/PA Taper carve neck, Black Ebony headplate, with "C.F. Grained Ivoroid body binding, select Abalone Pearl "45"-style rosette, beveled and polished Tortoise pick guard. Also, we asked the Custom Shop to sand the Adirondack top to the same thickness as Martin's Authentic Series models! This guitar would be a delight for either a flatpicker or fingerpicker! Custom Golden Era hand-scalloped 1/4" top bracing, in a forward-shifted Custom Pattern #2B. You would swear you were playing a Dreadnought or Jumbo except that it is so VERY COMFORTABLE to wrap your arms around! With only 1/2" of additional body depth, it produces amazing rich and robust volume, and the balance of sound is perfect.
