This puzzle just has me scared to ever tell anyone to download malwarebytes again on a windows 10 computer. ![]() I have also been in several jams over the years and most of the time I could always get myself out. ![]() I have worked with computers since 1996 so I know my way around pretty good. I do recommend the free version of malwarebytes and have for years. I think I would just like to continue to post here instead. This morning I know for a fact that removing the things that malwarebytes found and then removing them and rebooting caused this annoying problem. Both of these computers I ran malwarebytes on. I told them to just leave the computer on until I found a fix. I rebooted it several times and finally got back to where it was. Last week almost the same thing happened after I removed AVG with the uninstall utility and when it asked to reboot I got to a desktop telling me a temp profile had be created. This computer is still infected but I am not running anything until I find out what caused this to happen today. I tried it 10 times and each time I would sign in and back to the desktop. I then went into malwarebytes and all that was quarantined ( 776 mostly PUP's I restored back to where they were before I ran malwarebytes. Again I tried at least 10 times before I could get back to his desktop. On this one this morning after many tries I was finally able to get back to the desktop and don't have a clue how. Both were running windows 10 upgraded from windows 7. I have installed malwarebytes on hundreds of computers over the years and never once had any problem until the last two I installed it on. ![]() He did as I told him and even went as far as bringing it to me to help him do this. I suggested to a good friend to buy the pro version of malwarebytes. Endpoint Detection & Response for Servers
